Invest Texas Council Announces Statewide Advisory Board

AUSTIN – Invest Texas Council (ITC) today announced its statewide advisory board which is made up of leaders who have extensive public and private sector experience. The board will advise on critical infrastructure projects throughout the state, focusing on transportation, water, broadband and power. 

ITC is a policy-oriented organization founded to champion public-private partnerships (or “P3s”) across economic sectors and is focused on advancing policies – grounded in fundamental principles of good governance and sound economics – supporting private sector investment in infrastructure projects. 

“ITC’s statewide advisory board have a depth of expertise that can help drive the debate in support of P3s,” said ITC Chairman Ron Simmons. “At a time when Texas is seeing record population growth, the enhancement of water, transportation, power and other infrastructure projects through private investment could not be more pressing. Each of these board members is committed to furthering investment in public-private partnerships and securing a brighter future for the Lone Star State.”

Only with private investment and innovation can Texas keep pace with infrastructure necessary to support future population growth and economic development. Public revenue sources alone will not be enough to support the needs of the estimated 51 million individuals residing in Texas in 2070. The Invest Texas Council will support statutory and regulatory initiatives to attract private capital for local and state infrastructure projects.
